Almondbury Methodist Church
200th Anniversary Celebrations
2016 saw the 200th anniversary of the opening of the first Methodist Chapel in Almondbury on the present site in Westgate. A second chapel stood at the corner of Westgate and Longcroft for many years but the churches amalgamated in 1960 and a new church was opened in 1968.
The Methodist Church has been an important part of the community in Almondbury throughout this period and many folk from the village joined us in our celebrations throughout 2016. Below is a list of special services and events which were part of our anniversary celebrations.
